The training program is designed to provide a working knowledge of FDA regulations for dietary supplements under the Dietary Supplement Health & Education Act (DSHEA). The online training program covers the following areas: definition of the term dietary supplement; explanation for various types of claims, including health claims, disease claims, structure/function claims and nutrient content claims; definition and proper use of third party literature; and explanation of requirements for new dietary ingredients (NDIs), including FDA notification requirements. The course is available online and features a comprehensive explanation of DSHEA, an online test and automated grading. Upon successful completion of the course, individuals receive a Certificate of Completion issued by AIBMR Life Sciences and the National Training Institute (NTI).
